BALING
In 2002 we bought a baler and bale chaser trailer to supply a power station with our own straw. Since then the demand for biomass has rapidly increased and our baling business has expanded accordingly.
How it began
Our Customers
Although the majority of the straw that we bale is destined for biomass burning power stations we are pleased to have a broad and varied customer base who have many diverse uses for our straw. We have sold straw to cover tulips in Holland as well as to provide crash barriers at motor racing festivals!
Our Suppliers
The majority of our suppliers consistently supply us with product every year. Most of the twelve to fourteen thousand hectares that are baled is sourced within a forty five mile radius of our base at Malton Park Farm, Meldreth. The baling teams can be seen working in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk during the summer.
Our Staff
Central to the success of our baling enterprise is the experienced, hardworking, and conscientious team at its heart. We presently employ four full-time members of staff and sixteen seasonal employees. What Makes Us Different
As farmers we understand how important it is to bale and clear fields quickly whilst ensuring that we leave farms exactly as we found them. We enjoy a number of referrals and repeat business.
This is because of the excellent service we provide as well as the guarantee that all of our suppliers are paid promptly and correctly immediately after harvest.
